GENERALITIES
The IUH (The University Institute of Hematology), is a statutory component of the University of Paris 7, being one of the rare Institutes of Research in France to be governed by the article L.713-9 of the new code of the National Education (Formerly: article 33 of the Savary Law).
The IUH is the seat of the Doctoral School B2T (Biology and Biotechnology) whose mission is to complete the research education of students from scientific backgrounds, as well as Engineering schools and medical and pharmaceutical curriculum backgrounds, in the field of health and life sciences.
In addition to make it possible for students to carry out their training courses in laboratories and within receiving teams of professional excellence. The Doctoral School is to offer teaching programs of international standards through partnerships with European Institutes and Universities and approach, in particular The European School of Hematology, in the co-tutoring of doctoral theses.
This international dimension rich with experience exchange prepares the Ph.D. students for a better professional integration in the research organizations, the higher education and industry.
The Doctoral School offers different Education Components to the Ph.D. students.
Doctoral School B2T gathers seven Doctoral courses covering the major fields of public health, oncology, hematology, cardiovascular diseases and the research methods in fundamental biology and biotechnology in conformity with the educational programs dispensed in Masters of the University by the persons in charge for these courses.
The Doctoral School has privileged links with three Masters organized by the University of Paris 7.
The teaching courses of the four specializations of the 2nd year of these masters take place at the IUH:
- Genetics
- Pathological macromolecules.
- Skin Biology and Pharmacology.
- Molecular and functional biology of blood cells.
Two University Diplomas are also organized within this Institute:
- University Diploma in Cell Therapy.
- University Diploma in Tissue and Molecular Pathogenesis for Clinical Research.
The University Institute of Hematology shelters a set of laboratories of research Organizations (INSERM, CNRS, CEA), providing grounds of training courses for five of the seven Doctorates of the project B2T whose strategic program is oriented towards two of the themes of the School i.e. Hematology and Oncology.
